• Monday, Nov 21-27: Peckham Literary Festival in various venues, centred on the Review Bookshop in Bellenden Road.

• Monday, Nov 28: "Ladies in Jazz" is the title of Renato d'Aiello's current Monday night slot Upstairs at Ronnie Scott's. Tonight spotlights Jo Wallfisch from Dulwich. "She sings like an angel" says Renato. Plus a classical duo (piano and violin) and maybe poetry, too. See his Facebook page. 

• Till December 10 Groucher Evadne Rickets is starring in Stepping Out at the Union Theatre, from November 15 (not Mondays). "It's a fun show," she says.

• Friday, Dec 2  Marianne Gray of PeckhamPlex invites Grouchos to the  North London Self-Employed Lunch Club's Christmas lunch.

• Just opened  Rye Books, a new bookshop, 45 Uplands Road.
