May 20-21: Last weekend of the Dulwich Festival with open studios and fair in Dulwich Park on Sunday
May 22: Meet the director and the author... Film showing of We the Walking Wounded at the Copplestone Centre (for the Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers), a 46-minute documentary about an Afghan asylum seeker in Paris. Free, donations welcome. Director Mohamad Reza Sahibdad will be there, and Shabibi Shah will be reading from, and talking about, her book Where do I Belong?
May 25: Hugo Sims and his co-author of The Queens' London will be talking to Robert Elms on Radio London
+ Hylda Sims' Fourth Friday at the Poetry Cafe, with Harry Eyres (of the FT's In the Slow Lane, and music from Fran Gillivray and Mike Burke

May 27: A Picnic for Elizabeth David. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the death of the influential English cookery writer, I am encouraging people to have picnics on Sunday 27th. We will be in Kensington Gardens if anybody cares to join us. It's an excuse for fabulous al fresco feast! Check the link.
